Traffickers increasingly recruit through social media and messaging apps — and foster children are disproportionately targeted for the sex trade. Our CyberSkills Program, part of CyberDefense, teaches foster youth how to protect themselves online and trains the foster parents and agencies around them to reinforce those lessons and spot warning signs early. The curriculum is anchored by an original book series, Captain Giga and the CyberSweepers. The first book, Captain Giga and the Secret Key, teaches kids one online safety lesson at a time. Each CyberKit pairs with a book in the series.
